All UK contractors must now be looking to reduce the use of high carbon cement binders. Recent research by two UK Universities looking into reducing and replacing cement with ash waste streams has shown that both PFA and GGBS are effective for use in soil stabilisation.

The results show that by adding just 1% of RoadCem, available from PowerCem Technologies will actually improve soil stabilisation performance, even when over half the required cement is replaced by PFA and/or GGBS.

We are happy to discuss this with soil stabilisation operatives and UK construction companies.

Research is also taking place to utilise the more difficult Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) ashes as a direct cement replacement medium.  Watch this space.
